Window problem

Featured Replies

Been working away for a couple of days and I gets an email from the office saying ive left both my windows down, but only by an inch or so...

This has happened before, and I gave myself the benefit of the doubt and assumed id left the windows down...

Not sure whats going on here...is there a known electrical fault or anything similar....? or is the the old too many clicks on my key fob when I lock the car?

All help appreciated.

or is the the old too many clicks on my key fob when I lock the car?

More like holding onto the lock button for too long

I've heard of a few cases like that and I always assumed this can happen only in the event of "thinking" you've locked the car and windows but haven't visually verified. I mean If you've checked that windows are closed properly when you locked the car, the car cannot suddenly wake up and start lowering its windows right?

In mine I've had driver's window refusing to fully close and returning to 1/4 of its full length but that happened at the moment of trying to close it, not after having left the car on its own.

I had the problem with the window not closing and returning to 1/4 open. Only happened once last week has that happened more then once for you?

When i first got my car i was locking it & putting the windows down about 1 1/2 inches.

No idea what i was doing wrong.

I put the MFD back to factory settings when doing my tyre size reset & that was the end of the windows dropping when locking the car.

Or had i just got used to the blipper, dont know!

Windows only go down when holding down the unlock button and go up when you hold in the lock button

They were going down back then,

but they did not go up, i had to go in the car to close the windows.

Just tried them now, they do not go down or up with the Key fob anymore.

Happy as they are now,

i dont have a dog and dont want to leave windows open or do remotely when the car is locked.

I have had the windows dropping slightly on 2 of my last three Skodas. I could not inderstand how this happened until it happened in front of my eyes.

The car was on the drive and locked, i was in the garage working, I bent down to pick something up and the car unlocked and the windows dropped slightly. After a while the car relocked itself automatically, as central locking does this when no doors have been opened. This left a locked car with windows down slightly, just as i had found it several times before.

I discovered it was because i had tight jeans on, and bending down caused a squeeze on the key fob button! I have also had this happen when i have had other objects in the same pocket that have pressed the button, or I have been carrying things around the house that have put pressure on my key pocket.

I have cured this by not carrying my keys around when I am at home, I hang them up!

Just tried the VRS windows.

Obviously if you stop the car and remove the key but the windows are a open, you can press the window lift in the car and close the windows for the 20 seconds or whatever.

If i left the windows open a little.

& outside the car i help the Door Lock too long, it did not lock the door and close the windows,

it opened the windows further, about half open.

'Note to myself' to watch that incase walking away from the car while locking it with that 'Covert Press of the button'.

I will end up leaving the windows half open on both sides possibly.
