help needed asap please map gone wrong

Featured Replies

He has your file and is going to load it back on?

If he was doing a read of the ECU I wonder why he took a copy of it? Perhaps in case something like this happens! As to whether it works or not... Depends if he saved a copy before or after he did what ever it was that fudged it up!!

Probably want to start uploading the map to other peoples cars saying it's his own. From speaking with Nic from R tech he said it happens a lot. He's had cars in that were supposedly mapped by other companies, to find it was one his maps. It isn't hard to steal someone elses map, it's very wrong.

Ste you'll probably find looking through the history that's it's s REVO remap. REVO disable reading via the obd port. If you contact your local REVO dealer or head office they should be able to sort you out with either fixing the map or putting it back to stock.

I've had Revo on several cars, & it didn't disable the OBD port on any of them. However if your saying Revo disable reading their map through the OBD port then I believe that's correct.

It's standard practice for tuners to copy the existing map in case the owner wants to revert back to it at a later date.

Yes, my remapper for the remap I got 2 weeks ago (Elite Remaps) took a copy of my stock map, as Elite guarantee to revert the map at any time I request it, free of charge.

What is strange here is that the car that looked at the car insisted for so long that all he had done was 'read' the car, and hadn't changed anything ... yet now he's saying he 'has the file and can put it back on' ..... very strange... sounds like the cars been messed with my a complete dodgy amateur.
