Another cruise control compatibility question? Sorry!

BEA 600 003 A - Cruise control kit for Octavia Mk2 & Superb (3T)

Will this fit a '07 Octavia pre-FL Tdi PD 140? I don't have maxi-dot but I do have the right stalk with a rocker switch on the end and have two trip computers (one that auto resets after 2 hours, the second needs to be manually reset) using the stalk switches).

From reading many posts on this forum I think the answer is yes.

What I can't find out is whether I need to upgrade the steering controller (1K0 953 549 BC) or whether I will need to use the wire in the kit?

Anyone confirm either of these please?

Anyone?

I could do with a quick answer please before I lose the opportunity to get the kit at a decent price (hopefully).

Not sure on the steering wheel module, but the cruise control kit is the right one it also fits a VW caddy... just a pointless little fact there lol

Thanks Grizzle.

I'v just managed to decode the Ross Tech website page on steering wheel controller modules and it looks like it's pretty clear:

Control module: 1K0-953-549-BC

Slip ring type: Type 2

Software Level: SW 0070

Variant: Midline

Steering Angle Sensor: Yes

Notes: #1

#1: Does NOT allow Cruise Control Retrofitting, in such a Case you need to replace the Steering Wheel Control Module.

But it also says:

  • Variants
    • Lowline: No additional Options/Features
    • Midline: Cruise Control, Board Computer
    • Highline: Cruise Control, Board Computer, Multi-Function Steering Wheel

Which suggests that the 'midline' displays have cruise control support!

Even more confused now...

I have a midline display!

But my control module doesn't support cruise.

If I wanted to add MFSW I'd definitely need a high line compatible controller.

What about adding Maxidot later? Is that the high line display?

Really confused.
