OEM+, or...?

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried golf gtdi shocks, springs etc. coz surely they are uprated in the fact that its a diesel then uprated again for the gt aspect.

I have a set of lowering springs from my old bora, will thay fit on to my std Vrs shocks and mounts??

Weights are different on the octy, too heavy for golf springs, not sure about the Bora though

Carry on, personally I'd leave them well alone, if golf springs arn't right I doubt if Bora ones are either.

My springs have been cut by the cow boy who had it before me and im getting a full setup of std Vrs springs shocs top mounts etc at the end of the month, the bora springs were just to last till then?

My VMAXX coilovers apparently fit the Octavia or Bora/Jetta

Mind you the ride is pretty poor on them :)

I'd probably be inclined to say that the bora weights wont be too far different spring-wise for loaded axle weights from the octy hatch.

Especially when you're talking about after market 'uprated' springs - it's not like you're swapping for stock which may prove more suspect.

I'm still looking into OEM+ - Bora Sport springs _may_ be a thought. I should really look at ETKA closer.

Just been looking this up, and the Bora is actually 60kg heavier than the Octavia, so using Bora springs *should* be OK in theory. That's comparing the vRS to a Bora sport 1.8T. The golf weighs almost 90kg less than the vRS.

This is all taken from Parkers, so not entirely sure on the accuracy though.

The ARB mounting is still different though.
