ecu swap

Featured Replies

bit of a weird one-

after shedfuls of issues with my octy 1.9tdi 110 with asv engine, decided to shell/scrap it.. managed to get my hands on a leon 1.9tdi 110n asv.. only problem is- the octy seemed to have more poke? my thoughts were it had a chip box or remap... after removing engine- no sign of chip box... so my thoughts are it must have had a remap?

ive already swapped maf, nice clean inlet manifold, blanked egr, im in the process of swapping the injectors.. my only thoughts are ecu? can this be done easily? or are the cluster/pump/keys coded to the ecu?

its not a massive lack of power, just nowhere near as quick as my much missed octy :(

Everything is coded to the ecu, might be worth contacting shark they can remove the coding on the ecu and maybe tell you if it has been remapped first

Sent from my GT-I9100. Not a Crapple!

For how much it would cost wouldn't it just be easier and cheaper to get the Leon mapped? I know you can get a good 300lb torque from them on a standard map.

my lack of power turned out to be crap injectors- swapped out for my octy ones= happy days :)

dont know if the cost of a remap would be the way forward?, my main priority is mpg.. although a few extra horses wouldnt go amiss, maybe a chip box?

anyone recommend a half decent chip box? -something that wont break the bank? im not looking for f1 performance, just a little bit more oomph..

A tuning box will probably cost about as much as a remap. Boxes for the injection pump engines are hard to get hold of, you can't use one designed for the PD engines.

Awesome gti are mapping 1.9 tdis for £150 all in at this moment in time!

might drop them a line- price looks promising.. wonder if they remap via post? (i post ecu, they remap and post it back?) :)
