Hi all,

I have a FL 2010 VRS CR with Xenons (no auto headlights). When I unlock the car, I would like the fog lights to come on.

I have VCDS and have changed the following:

Control Module > [09] Central elec / Coding / Long coding helper / Byte 17/ Bit 3, tick.

But the fog lights still remain off when I unlock the car.

I know it is possible, I remember a few threads about people doing it. Could someone please guide me as to what else needs coding?

It has to be dark for lights to come on, are you trying it at night or day?

IIRC the VRS doesn't have the light sensor, so if you do code it, they'll activate during the day as well.

Thanks! That's exactly how mine is set up. There is no light sensor on mine, so Im expecting them to come on every time, but I do not get them coming on. Is there any other coding or procedure which I have to do? It is also enabled through the maxidot too.

Pimpster, that's the same coding i used. no issues with it on mine. works everytime, based on the lighting conditions.

If optioned, I would have thought it would have had the auto-lights feature.

Plus Aussie spec could well differ from UK spec. We already know the Ireland spec does. ;)

I have an FL vRS that has auto lights and rain light sensor.

I have coded it so that the fogs come on for the CH/LH and it only works when it's dark.

The coding is as per the screenshot linked above. I would try resetting the maxi dot and then try it again.

Also ensure you have the CH/LH options ticked in VCDS and finally check that the CH/LH mode is manual and not personalisation.
