so im thinking of getting a superb!

Featured Replies

So at the min i drive a saab 9-3 and im looking at getting somthing that is as nice to drive but a lot more economical, so im torn between the octavia green line the octavia scout and the superb, the reviews seem to be really good, and the greenline models look quite good, are they as good as people say and is 10000 a ok budget for one of these?

Jut converted from an Alfa 159 to a Superb SE. Give one a test drive, you will probably find that it will make the 9-3 a bit old and tired. The Superb is great as far as kit, drive, fuel, ergonomics, solidity, build, but not the best (but far from the worst) in handling.

A £10K budget will stretch to a newer Octavia than Superb, obviously. With that budget, you're probably looking at the earlier 1.9tdi rather than the later 1.6CR in a Greenline, but the 1.9tdi is a well trusted lump, if less refined than the CR range. The none-Greenlinr 1.9tdi cars don't have the occasionally-troublesome DPF of the Greenlined.

But the Superb II is a great car, whatever the engine.
