Featured Replies

Hi all Im hoping to buy a Octavia 1.9 TDI PD Elegance estate or hatch got 3500 at the mo hope my old astra keeps going long enough so I can get 4500 should be able to pick a decent 05 r 06 for that

Only thing doin me head now is this stupid dpf rubbish had a mate he just retired got himself a Citroën 05 reg

3 months later he’s about another 8 or 9 hundred quid down the drain an hes still in limp home mode

Is there any way of telling if a dpf is fitted before I buy me Octavia plus anything else to watch out for, not really bothered about the mileage as Im 71 now so it aint gotta last that long anyway lol

Welcome.

Usually if you can see the label in the service book there will be a 3 digit code for engine type.

I believe AWX engine, Euro 111 is one to go for, but don't take my word for it.

There's tons of info on this site and the interweb.

OOh scratch that, it may be a superb engine, but seriously Euro III engines are the ones without the DPF.
