Popped my Octavia Vrs in Winchester Skoda last night for them to have a look at my steering column. Had to wait an hour for a courtesy car as the one I was getting was never returned! Whilst there I was looking around the cars and got collered by a salesman. After a bit of chit chat he asked if I would be interested in changing my car. Told him the details and the options it had he said its definitely something they want. He told me they are struggling to get well specked low mileage Vrs's. Mines a FL 09 with 31000. It got xenons, parking sensors, lights assist, Bluetooth and it's a DSG. Offered me £11500 in a trade for a brand new one exactly the same as mine. Pretty much walked out in disgust at the low offer or is this me just think my cars worth more than it is?

I think that's low even allowing for bartering, he can't be all that desperate for them

Just the same as the estate agents cards you get though your door where they allegedly have have people wanting houses just like yours.

Theres one on a 10 plate in a main dealers near me. DSG diesel estate in white for £14k so I don't think thats such a bad offer.

It may be a reasonable amount for a part exchange but the rest is just another dealer's made up stories.

I had to walk away from a deal with Winchester Skoda as it fell far short of what others were prepared to do for me. Nice folks though.
