Air leak octavia mk1 vrs

Featured Replies

Could anyone help me I've found an air leak in the pipe that runs down inbetween the inlet then in to a 'y' piece but what I want to do is replace it with a silicone hose but don't know what set of pipes it would come in. I.e breather ect. Thanks

Is it the one that goes from the inlet pipe to the right side of the cam cover?

It comes out of the inlet then goes half over the top of the inlet then down inbetween the inlet its quite a thin pipe it also comes from the brake servo all in to 1 but it the bit that's just out of sight down the front that's split. If that helps? Cheers.

I know the pipe you mean. Unfortunately no-one does a silicone replacement for it AFAIK, so you have to get a proper part. You can get rid of the pipe and some other stuff if you want, but I'm still for the theory that it must be there for a reason, so don't mess with it. Nobody knows what it's for, but we have the theory that it's there to provide vacuum to the brakes if the elctronic throttle goes mad.

Thanks for the reply I was finding it hard to try and explain which pipe it was I think I'm with you on that one that it must be there for some reason but it looks so much tidier without it think I will just replace it and be done with it. Cheers.
