As said in the topic title the gears aren't right, i've heard of this being a common problem with this gearbox. Im about to change the oil but ive been told this makes no difference. The gears are ok once the car has warmed up!!! Has anybody had this problem?? If so whas there a resolution? FRUSTRATED isn't the word.

Make sure you use VAG gearbox oil. How many miles has it done?

If its ok once warmed up I would try changing the oil first, if that doesn't work id try realigning the gear linkage look on you tube to see how to do it.

its only 53k miles and has had a reconditiong box put on from the garage where i bought the car from 3 months ago. im about to change the oil but its got an anti-tamper sump plug and filler plug. (think its an m16 splined hole)
