Octavia Elegance -08 ACC issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

A week ago I bought an Octavia Elegance -08, and I can't seem to remember that this issue was apparent when I bought it.

I has to do with the ACC, the climiate control, or more specifically; the airflow.

As you know, you can regulate where you want the airflow to go, either you want it to go to your feet, your face, or the front-window, or you could just push all the buttons and have them all on at once.

Now, the issue is when you don't have ANY of these buttons selected, basically when you havn't decided where the airflow should go. Then the two middle panels(where the airflow should come from), has no airflow, so no air comes out of the two middle panels. They're basically shut. So the only airflow that comes is from the two side panels. Now, if you select and regulate the airflow button to your face it works fine.

Is it suppose to be like this? When you have no settings set on the ACC, the climiate unit, is the airflow only suppose to go two the side panels?

I'm thankful for any assistance, thanks in advance,

Dennis

Just on ac, warm air or both? Manual fan control or on auto?

If dual zone, are both set the same temp or different?

Thanks for the reply!

Well, it was on 25 Celsius, on manual fan control!

I have to get back to you regarding further troubleshooting, I just noticed this problem on my way to work.

Either way, is this a known/common issue?

It seems to be working when I use AC and on manual fan control.

The temperatures are set on the same temp!

When on 'Auto' (no direction buttons selected/illuminated) I don't get any airflow through the two centre air vents.

As far as I am aware when no specific selection is made the car just splits the available airflow through the two side dash vents and down by your feet. I guess this is to avoid blowing too much air in or around head height and ensure the air is distributed as evently and as discreetly as possible throughout the cabin...

If I use really low temperatures on the AC then air flows through the two center vents.

It won't flow any air of I take it on high temperatures! I don't know how it works ;p seems to be on some auto-climate control either way.
