Hi, I have a mk2 octavia. The warning bulb came up on the dashboard, and upon investigation I dicovered the n/s side light is not working. I took a look but it looks near on impossible to change the bulbs urself as access is very resticted. Has anyone got any advice as to how this can be done or is it a visit to the dealer.

I used the following guide to access the headlight assembly, doesn't matter if you want to change bulbs or flatten the beam pattern, the first couple of crucial steps are the same.

This guide was done using a pre-FL I believe, so access to the lightbulb compartments on the back of your FL headlight assembly will look slightly different, as will the clip that retains the dip beam bulbs.

Are we talking pre-FL or FL?

Either way the process is almost identical.

Nice to see a modern car where the headlight unit can be easily removed... I've heard of some modern stuff where you virtually have to take the front bumper out to change headlight bulbs!

Partially my fault there, I muddied the water by assuming FL.

It's also in the manual, that's where I found the guide. Soo much easier changing bulbs than on my old civic. Great setup if you ask me
