Which standard suspension parts from other VAG cars fit on the vRS? Do the front struts/springs from say a LCR/S3 fit and are they the correct rates etc?

Struts and springs is not interchangeable wrong rates, arb wish bones etc are.

Hmmm, that's a shame. Would be a direct fit, with the ARB drop link mount, but just too soft?

no s3 is 4wd and totally different. lcr i assume would fit

s3 does fit physically as the front struts on the octy have the same arb/droplink mounts as the 4x4 models (like the LCR too) however, they are not rated/weighted for the octavia, and as such i would not fit them.

The LCR is nearer to the octavia in weight, though its springs and shocks are weighted another 20kgs on the front iirc, for the heavier ko4 setup.

bugger, i have a vogtland setup from a fwd a3 that i was hoping would go on my octavia

Some people have done it and said that it was ok but it isn't recommend

I've always wondered if it was ok especially when replacing tired and worn suspension as it wouldn't be the correct weights anymore anyways
