Green filter cleaner?

Featured Replies

Its coming to that time when I rescue my blackened green filter from its dirty housing and give it a wee clean and re-oil... Trouble is I have loads of oil, and am all out of cleaner. :(

Is there a similar "stuff" to green cleaning solution I could use. I see no point in buying another twin pack just for the cleaner, when I have oil already. Would a normal degreasing solution do the trick...? Last thing I want to do is in any way comprimise the structural integrity of the filter! :thumbdwn: bye bye MAF if I do I reckon.

D,

Just use any detergent.....just plain degreasing detergent will do......I use that too out here and its just as effective....believe you me.....have done lots of GREEN filters already....& they work just as well as what's been supplied by GREEN itself........... :D

Or if you do want the Green stuff, Halfrauds were knocking it out at less than a tenner.

What kind of brands would "degreasing detergent" be... well, in the UK at least?
