Bolero Mix Function = headache

Featured Replies

this may have been covered before but i have been struggling to get it to work.

i have now sussed it out so i thought i would post what, where and how in case anyone else is.

at first i ended up copying all my music to the SD card as single tracks.

very time consuming and a complete pain in the proverbial if you want to find a specific track.

then i had a brainwave. :whew:

i remembered i had read something on here a long time ago about having a single track on it's own then all the other tracks in their albums. so i tried that.

it didn't work :wall:

i was determined to sort it out this time, so i went back to the pc and double checked everything was where it should be.

turns out i had missed 1 album folder that was a subfolder of the artist folder :@

sorted that and lo and behold it works!

so in a nutshell...

stick the SD card in ya pc

copy 1 track to the root directory so it looks like E:\trackname (it doesn't matter what track it is) :)

then copy all your albums to the root directory. eg. E:\albumname. :)

i renamed them to show the artist and album in the name. eg. E:\artist albumname\trackname to make it easier to find what i want.

now this is the important bit.... make sure there are no subfolders.

you must have, for example, E:\albumname\trackname :)

and not E:\artist\album\trackname

even if you have just 1 track in a subfolder it will not work. :wall:

when you insert the card back in the bolero it will start by playing the single track.

if all is well, with the mix option selected, you should be able to randomly cycle through all album tracks using the >> or << icons in the usual way.

if you only get random tracks from within the same album then you'll have to go back to the pc and make sure all is how it should be.
