`PINNED`

Featured Replies

Please tell me...what does `PINNED` mean here?

It's a stickied thread. It will always appear at the top of a forum, unlike others that will naturally drop

I believe that it means that a topic is fixed to remain at the top of the board, or at least near the top when there are more than one pinned topic.

Topics that are not pinned will be listed in the order of the most recently commented topics at the top (below the pinned topics) with increasingly older topic/comments down the page and onto subsequent pages.

Note that the order is not based on when the topic was created, but rather on the date/time of the most recent comment in that topic.

What gadgetman said, only it took me four times as many lines to say it.

My wife says I talk alot too!

Thank you...but I'm bemused (sounds painful eh!) What does a `stickied thread` mean, and why are some threads `Pinned`?

The most commonly asked questions or useful information get pinned, so they are at the top of each sub forum and do not 'fall off' the bottom of the page when new posts appear.
