Tailgate on Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hey Guys

Does anyone have a solution on how to stop flooding the rear luggage area every time you open the tailgate when its Raining .

Cheers Guys

BTW : Enjoy your Summer whilst it lasts , Winter Sucks

Is your car waxed? youll find the rain will tend to collect more on a waxed car hence creating the beads but these are very easily disturbed..learn from my mistakes..Always drive round a few corners before opening any windows..otherwise door card and right leg get soaked!

Only suggestion i have it not to open the boot so quickly, open so the tailgate is level with your chest, hold for 2 seconds then release, this is way i get around it

Swap it for an estate

cheers for all the advice

This annoys the hell out of me too. Such a design flaw to allow the water to pool under the spoiler so that when the boot is opened you soak everything on the sides!

It's on any octy and the MK I hatch too, not just the vRS.

er what summer It rained all April and May apart from 2 glorious weeks and is still raining now ! :rain: I too like Emma open slowly the it is fine, and park on level ground

Try not to use rain x on it either, as I found out. Even greater flooding????. But as Emma says, lift it slowly and let some run off.

And yes, I've had that wet knee too!!!

fold down the back seat and crawl in that way :giggle:
