Miss my old car

Featured Replies

I know there are similar threads like your route to skoda and some people have huge lists of cars.Mine is not so long but even so,there is only one car I genuinely miss and wish I hadn't parted with it.All the others were instantly forgotten as soon as I had the new purchase and I havn't thought about them since.

It wasn't my Talbot Samba (passenger wing mirror was an extra back then!) my MG metro turbo,Rover 216(honda shape),ford escort 1.3,Nova SR with black wheels, vauxhall tigra( still shudder :o ),golf 'GTI ' 8v hmmm,or my Audi A4 1.8T quattro.

Nope, none of these,it was my hairdressers car.My Escort 1.6 EFi convertible and it was great.Still remember how the interior smelt ( in a nice way ;) ),how good it looked clean, how good it sounded (even the XR3 had a good sound in those days. Best of all, open top motoring

I love acceleration and speed but taking the roof off a car (or lazy power hood) is great.Best kind of motoring.Doesn't matter how fast you go it's got that feel good factor.Great for hols too :D

Maybe it's why I hanker after a lotus elise so much :(

So is there one car you wish you hadn't sold out on.Or do you not care a fig once you flogged the old one :D

I'll confess to being a saddo; I get attached to all my cars and I'm always sad to see them go. Probably because they are a home from home for me (50k+ miles per year), reckon I spend more time in my car than with the other half :(

50K+ a year !!?? and i thought my 15-18K was bad...

only car i ever owned before the Octy was the R19 16v i had for 6 years. i dont really miss it cause i've got something much better now but i do wonder whats happened to it since i sold it on.

Other cars before the Renault were company cars and right bag o ****es.

Miss my Mk1 MR2, especially when the weather's sunny! Great drivers car

I'll be very sad when I finally part with the Furby... :(

The one car I owned that I really miss, is the Mk2 Golf GTI 16V.

This is the car that got me hooked to the VW scene.

Would have loved to have kept it for a track day car, but I needed the money.

I miss my the MV6 3.0 Opel Omega that I had before I went and downgraded (engine wise) to buy a 2.0 Fabia. The power on that car was great on straights, even though it in no way would be able to take a sharp corner at high speeds. Full options, comfortable on the road, big, everything...I guess I really miss the power it had.

I miss furby Mk1! :( There was so much more potential with it before I stacked it big time. I don't miss any other car before that, although the 1.9i ZX I learned to drive in was sweet.

If ever furby mkII goes, I'll be very  I've no intention of ever selling. I also do fair mileage - 20K a year perhaps, so like Jon, she is a home from home, plus having had her so "fettled with" can't do anything but make the attachment stronger. Got a set of JLs thumping away in the boot now, and my attachment to the car has taken another surge! :speaker: :D :speaker:

I missed my first Octy vRS, replaced it with the Astra conv, missus said why 12months later got anoth Octy, big grin once again.

I miss my old 1.4 16v after all the work I had put into it, but the vRS is cheaper for me to run seen as I have done 30,000 miles in the 18 months of owning it. :D

I'm another in the sad camp here. I miss all my cars... but the three I miss most in reverse order... I've attached reg no's in case anyone knows where they are now!

3. My 1997 Rover 216SE Cabriolet - the open top factor IS great - P405 EOF

2. My 1994 Rover 220 Coupe Turbo - 250BHP and loadsa torque steer :D - M867 ALW

1. My 1967 Triumph Herald 1200 saloon - my first car, and a real bag of spanners in some ways, but it was lovely to drive, lovely to sit in, lovely to look at - KHJ 825E

Missed my 205 gti when i sold it. Needed the cash at the time and was gutted as it was a lot of fun.

I did miss my fabia tdi when i first got the vRS, as the vrs felt slower. this has now been sorted out though :D

I miss my old Bengal Yellow 1.4 S Ibiza I had in 1999, great car IMO, seen it since in Bournemouth, been totally ruined by some chav modifications now! But I still have the memories!

the only one of my cars I really miss is my old Lancia Thema Turbo...... that was a great car...... *sharky goes away to mourn......
