Upgrading from Bolero to Columbus?

Recommended Posts

Heya.

I'm about to buy a Columbus RNS-510 unit and have a few questions.

I've read around on several forums and just wanna make sure that I wont end up with a unit not working or car problems.

Is it just plug and play or do I need to use VCDS as well? Some ppl are talking about CANBUS. Is that something I have to worry about or is it older cars?

I've seen that the newest unit is LED instead of LCD. Is there a version that is better then other? Which one is it recommended to buy?

My car is a Skoda Superb MK2 -2011.

It´s plug´n´play, but you will need VCDS to code the car to navigation. Go for the newer LED model, the display it brighter and it´s a little faster. Oh, btw, send your Bolero to me :)

Dont you have the Bolero version in your car?

No, I´m struggling with the Swing radio... :(

BTW, it´s very easy to code the car to Columbus. Just go to 17 Can Gateway, and tick of the box called "navigation".

Hi there! Is there a chance you could post a link where you've ordered these from?

Cheers!
