Hi all,

i recently upgraded my car stereo and purcashed a Sony XAV-60 headunit for a bargain price. All is fitted however i need a surround facia for the headunit as i currently have a big gap. I've looked around loads of halfords stores and haven't come across a single one. Also i went online and found what i was looking for, ordered the facia and when it turned up it was the correct dual din size however had a plastic strip going throught the middle (wasn't shown in the pic). I could have cut the piece in the middle but being plastic it would look obvious and nasty...

Can anyone suggest where i can get a facia from? thanks

Get it direct from skoda. Mine cost less than £4

However I'm sure someone will come along with an answer too

cut the bit out the middle mate and itll be fine. Thats what the double din ones at three times the price are anyway.

Where did you get your surround from by the way?

Halfords do a Mk4 golf facia but im guessing thats diff?

Surely your headunit came with one?

Then you should just need the single strip that goes across the top from a dealer.

I've looked in the box and can't find one. Guessing it could be the reason as the headunit was a display model :/

You do have a piece missing. It's a bit like a picture frame. I'm sure if you go on sonys website you maybe able to order a replacement.

Ok took my chances and went to local Halfords today. Seem to actually find someone that knew what they where on about. Showed them inside the car and have now ordered the fabia facia plus a universal clip which will go inbetween the facia and headunit. Fingers crossed it's right

How much did you pay for the Fabia specific fascia? Aftermarket ones don't usually fit right. The one from a dealer matches the dash perfectly and costs £3.

I'd cancell the one from halfords they don't fit and are a tad expensive

Yup halfrauds ones are 15 quid, look the wrong colour and fall out... General halfords crap!

You need the manufacturer of the head units surround and the 4quid top trim peice from skoda which clips and and matches in the correct colour!

Ok managed to get the parts on way home from work today and surprise surprise it doesn't fit :/ it looked perfect, only problem is the clips on the right hand side are bigger than the left hand side. the left hand side clips look perfect. As it goes for the piece between the headunit and facia, i really ain't too sure as the facia hasn't yet been fitted :/

If you search for Sony xav-60 trim on eBay they is someone selling the trim piece it's £17 delivered though

Thanks, as odd as this may sound the headunit did come with the trim described above. It's not actualy the clip however, the trim that comes with the headunit is very thin, doesn't have any clips and am not too sure what it's for :/

That will fill the gap around the sides and cover all the metal cage of the radio. The skoda piece just covers the remaining bit below the buttons. I'll take a pic of my pioneer tomorrow to show you. If you want

Probably just snaps into place on the front of the headunit.

They usually do, even on single din for that matter.

Not the one in the finchley retail park? It wasn't Darren was it? Very good mechanic, knows his stuff I have no idea why he works there other than its 5mins walk from his house.
