I have a TDi Octavia (2001), and the girlfriend has 1.9D Felicia (1997). It is the Felicia that is troublesome... the front shocks have rusted through [sprint seat has dropped and rubbing on wheel] and they seem to be a total pig to change. Managed to get one of the clamp bolts out, but the otherside is having none of it. Tried plus gas, a large hammer, more plus gas and a blow torch, and yet it refuses to move!! Looks as if I might have to drill it out tomorrow!

Welcome to Briskoda. I had to have the front struts replaced on my Felicia too due to serious corrosion.

Just a thought, have you tried one of those cheapy 12v impact wrenches? Stupid as it might sound, they're actually very powerful. Made short work of the rusted clamp bolts on my parents Peugeot Boxer struts.
