Broch Signs and Print - eBay seller

Featured Replies

Any body used this idiot on eBay? He's the bloke who does the Skoda badge overlays and bits like that.

I ordered mine on the 1st of June and got them 10 days later. The set of 7, the wheels and the steering wheel badge in the plain black with the VRS badge. And then the OEM style skoda badge but with red instead of green.

He said it was all fine....anyway what I actually recieved were these :-

Can't really tell by the light but they are orange / bronze not red! It also looks like its been printed on tin foil.

Has anybody yet noticed how uncentral the circular badges are?!!

I contacted him about the orange / bronze badges and after eventually getting through to his common sense he realised what I was after and told me to send him my address and what exactly I was after. This was a week ago.....tonight I contacted him to see how they were coming along and he message'd me back saying 'what do you mean'

Utter douche bag. His returns policy is 7 working days and only if they are damaged. It had been 7 working days before I even got them after I paid!!

Can I open a dispute or anything like that? I've tried to be polite but he's really ****ing me off now.

Opening up a claim with eBay. Of the item is not as describes he is between a rock and a hard place. He has no case. If the item is trash and doesn't match the description of the item you purchased you will receive a refund after eBay have viewed your case. Google eBay claim.

Dunno If you can dispute anything on ebay but pasty boy has just started another badge group buy. why not get in on that its probably cheaper :giggle:

First and foremost.

You should have gone to Pastyboy.

Hundreds of satified customers including me.

I suspect this is a chap I locked horns with some time back but operating

under a different name. Like you, I started a thread and he came on and posted

in it with all manner of abuse toward me and other members. I suspect he would

change his account and seller details often as he quickly gets a little negative

following online and his negative feedback is hilarious if it's the same guy.

If he hasn't been blatantly abusive toward you then maybe he has cleaned his

act up a bit in recent months. Could be a different guy but it sounds like his M.O.

EDIT, just been on ebay and checked. Yes it's him alright.

He has a real thing about the word moron

Google jaystuff2009 ;) and read what you find ;)

I've ordered a couple of the vRS stickers off him in the past and they were okay. I think i may have even ordered some of the car key badges as well and they were fine.

My partyboy ones are not central. Really noticeable with a black background.

+1 here

I would have sooner paid double and get a very good badge from Pasty than take the risk with an eBay seller!

I spoke to Pasty Boy before hand, but 3 weeks ago I was skint and my Dad paid for them for me as the rear badge looks pants! The other reason I went to him was because I got chatting to a lad and he had the carbon vrs versions all round on his car and they were very good quality. I thought he bought them from eBay but I saw him again and asked him and they were actually from Skoda!

I'll open a claim later when I'm on my laptop.

Those little 'VRS' badges I had off him too - only 1 is useable because the other is covered in marks but I only need 1 so I wasn't too fussed.

His negative feedback is hilarious - 1 that I recall is him abusing someone about their spelling. Even a short message from this guy will show you that he is an absolute retard, it's like trying to make a sentence from a primary school child!

Does anybody think that I'm ****ing in the wind trying to get my money back then?

Should I just leave negative feedback and open a claim or just open a claim?

Right he's just replied as I posted this message!

He says that they have posted me out some new 80mm ones with red and black yesterday or the day before.

Hardly in a rush to get it sorted is he.

Right bets on that the moron will have ****** these ones up aswell (Y)

Have you contacted "partyboy" and told him you're not entirely happy?

He is very accomodating and unlike the seller in question he cares

about what his customers think and in my experience he's

only doing this to provide a service rather than to make money.

Give it a try.

Just open a claim :)

I appear to have hijacked this thread without even posting :D

Nobody can be abslutely perfect and i'll hold my hands up and admit that due to being super busy at work recently my eyes has slipped from QC-ing every badge that gets produced.

Had i clocked a truly wonky one i'd never have sent it.

If you are unhappy with it send me a visual over and speakto the pritner and get a replacement done.

Wish I'd have heard about all your good comments before hand :(

Anyway there's a parcel at home for me with the replacement badges in! Hopefully they are right this time. I'll post a pic in about 2 hours :)

  • Author

So the replacements came - he sent me 3! Although every one of them has some form of defect - pics in next post!

That is the cleanest one - you can see a smudge slightly though.

That one looks as though he was running low on ink!

Another smudge.

Am I actually being to picky? I don't think I am. How the hell does he get away with trading and actually having a business? And most of all how can someone actually send those out to a customer as replacements to a customer who has already complained?!!

Idiot!

That term violates the Sales of Goods Act 1979, and is therefore unenforceable (as he's trading as a business*, he's bound by it, and statute trumps contract terms) - simply put, the seller must give you a "reasonable period of time" to examine the goods before you've deemed to have accepted them. For something like this, a day or two after receipt for obvious faults (e.g. snapped in half), or longer for "failed to remain of satisfactory quality" issues (e.g. it faded to pure white after a week of use), would be reasonable (note: ultimately what constitutes a "reasonable period" is dependent on the type of item, and is up to a court).

Also, I doubt his blanket "no returns under the Distance Selling Regulations" term is valid, either, as he's claiming that the items are "made to order" (a valid exemption under the Act), however, looking at some of the adverts, they seem to be "stock items" (although this would not apply in your case as you asked for something that was actually custom and therefore exempt).

So, dispute with e-bay under "not of satisfactory quality" and/or "not as described" per SOGA. If that fails you have the option of Small Claims (although that may well be overkill/too much hassle!)

Probably worth a read: http://pages.ebay.co...tre/rights.html, and http://www.oft.gov.u...e/sogaexplained

* Well, I assume they are as they list something that looks like a trading name

P.S. To complicate things, they are in Scotland, which has some legal differences. The above is correct for England & Wales, and I assume Scotland (but this may not be the case, so best to check).

I used him for wheel centre badges and can't say anything bad about him.

I can confirm Sale of Goods applies in Scotland, though there are plenty other differences in our legal system that statute does apply.

If you aren't happy open a dispute, you will get your money back but don't close the claim under any circumstances till you do. Also when you return them pay the 95p extra for recorded delivery, you need to in order to comply with ebay's return policy.
