I have a 2004 54 MKII Octavia TDI 140 PD fitted the 18" Neptune alloy wheels previously the car had 17" pegasus alloy wheels...

Well I fitted the Neptune alloy wheels today and can hear a noise not there constantly but can hear a noise that can be described as a "grrrrr" sound...

Do I need Spigot Rings to resolve the problem if so which size do I need? or do I need spacers?

Really dissapointed as I liked the look of these alloy wheels.

They are used. But that shouldn't make a difference should it? Have had used tyres in the past with no issues.

I have just fitted 17,s Zeniths and I have noise too from the rear only because of cheap budget tyres. I got brand new Kumhos on the front and they are silent.

Have the inside edges of (what was) the rear tyres gone out of shape?

Run the palm of your hand across the inside edge of the tread and do they feel like a 50p peice? the MKII Octavia suffer from 'sawtoothing' rear tyres.

You only need spigot rings when you fit non VAG wheels that have a larger centre bore than the VAG 57.1mm.
