I have a 2006 superb with an electric sunroof today i had it open and then when i turned the dial to close it it got 3/4 of the way closed and the went back to the fully opened postion on its own it did this a number of times untill it just decided to close anyone have any idea what might cause this ???

Probably the switch, check the roof gulley as the drain blocks up and you could be holding water.

I've not had this exact problem, but my sunroof has been a bit slow to shut - not moving too smoothly. The roof in my wife's Mini has done exactly as you describe though. Both were fixed with some silicone spray on the tracks - lovely and smooth closure straight away.
