How Much For Tyres ?

Featured Replies

HI Chaps,

I am about to have my second service and will probably need a couple of front tyres. Anyone got a rough idea what I might get charged for these, and is there much difference between getting them fitted as part of the service or get them fitted elsewhere ??

Need to guess how many pennies it will cost me

Would give your dealer a ring beforehand to find out what their offering and at what cost, oh and if they fit supplied (by you) tyres and again at what cost.

Otherwise it depends on the brand/quality your after; know some owners with the 17" sports tyres, have been going for the Barum Bravuris 2 (owned by Continental) as they will set you back less than £100 a corner fitted.

Also try Camskill as they are often competitive on price (tyre only no fitting) and charge only £3 a tyre delivery.

My local tyre fitter charges between £5 & £8 a corner to mount tyres to rims (depending which fitter is on duty).

Cheers Plummy !!

Had the Barums fitted and can recomend them. Seem to be quiter than the standard Dunlops and handle as good - although I dont drive on the limits.

You can get 5% of Barums with the following code @ Tyre Shopper: VC5BAR

I'm getting to the stage of needing two tyres in the near future and although I've used Kumho's on the Yeti, and previously on the Freelander, I've decided that I'm not happy with them. Can't put my finger on why, just there is something that doesn't "feel" right. I was going down the Vector All Season route but several people locally have given good reports of the Hankook equivalent, but those Barum's look very tempting.

I think I have got some thinking to do.
