Its done! A few pics!

Featured Replies

Well, its done and I'm 99% happy with it... Its just seems some defect on the driver's side passenger door, means I'm left with a strangle little tiny "circle" bobble from under the strip (not repeated on other side) and the paint is a slightly different shade. Hope to get that sorted by the bodyshop whenever I get the boot done too.

However, I LIKE it. :) Can't believe I never thought of doing it before. Here's a few piccies in sequence. It wasn't as hard as I feared, once I'd worked in the cloth wrapped lever to get it going, it peeled off quite easily. It was just some stubborn gunk at each end that was a b1tch to remove. But all done inside one hour, including photo breaks. :o : thumbup:

Getting it started... Cloth wrapped curled egded lever was essential!

Shortly it was coming off quite easily

By this point, I was gently teasing it off by pulling on the end of it.

And this was it once I'd cleaned off the gunk.

The essential 50/50 comparison shot!

Then it turned a bit cold and some odd weather suddenly rolled off the fields... A moment ago, the hot sun was making the fields themselves steam like mad, then all of a sudden the wind picked up.... Well, it is Devon I guess.

Nice job. Done in an hour, want a job ;-)

Are the Octy ones the same? or do they have those annoying pins on the back?

You may want to rub out the number plate shown in pic 4 ;-)

Only the neighbour's bimmer - It'll be alright. ;)

Looks really good Jason, lets hope other car doors and supermarket trolleys stear clear to avoid those annoying dinks.

that looks really good!

I'm considering the same on the Octy. I reckon it'll have no effect on the number of car park dents as these strips re all different heights from make to make.

I'm relying on the fact that a) I don't go to supermarkets all that often, and B) when I do I might make the effort to park further from the store and walk. :)

Where did you get your headrest covers from?!!!

I'll give you three guesses, but you'll only need one.

Although since I got a set, there's not been many more come up on there.

every one will be rushing out to buy the classic now cus the other levels of trim come with the black strips!

The Octy ones have an indent in the bodywork underneath - look at the next base spec taxi you see!!
