We have opted for the 16" feet as well.

Whilst the ride of the 16's was more to my liking when compared to the 17's another factor that swayed my decision was the large differential in price for replacement rubber.

Over the years I have owned 2 Golf Tdi's and an Octavia Tdi, all ran on 16" wheels and were more than enough fun for me.

I am sure there are differences in upper performance levels for road holding, but I am not in that league.

PS I find it interesting that Formula 1 cars have quite small rims and large sidewalls, but that is to overcome the complete lack of suspension.
