mk2 skoda octivia engine , (engine conversion wireing help /whats this box?

hi all new member ,i bought a smashed mk2 octivia 2.0 16v tdi 6speed , ive sold the rest of the car, and basicly been trying to get the engine runing on the floor,

ive basicly stripped the engine loom of what i think needed , but looking at autodata , im unsure if this module is needed the make the starter motor crank the engine (its called a multifuction control module) can anyone state if its needed?and were its located on the the mk2 octivia as again autodata shows it as a 8pin module? heres a picture highlighted in
