Uprated engine mounts for vrs mk1

Featured Replies

Done a search on this and gathered some info but non relevant to the above car.

Anyone fitted uprated engine and gear box mounts?

Which ones would you recommend (70 shore hardness was advised in a previous thread)

I've never had a new engine or gearbox mount in 9 years so thought some nice new uprated ones would benefit the car.

My car is a 2003 Ibiza tdi 130 asz btw.

i've got the vibra-technics engine mount fitted

And I have the Super-pro gearbox mount. Fit & vibr-r-r-r-r-ate

Is it a worth while mod? Are the extra vibrations worth it. Should i just stick with std mounts?

Cheers !

I found that just getting a new standard mount did wonders.

I had a lot of movement in the bottom gearbox one and bought a new one.

Much better now. Think it was about £30.

Didn't like the idea of extra noise/vibration with an uprated one.

ENGINE MOUNTS

Vibra-Technics = VAG220M = This is a whole replacement lower rear link (dog-bone).

Vibra-Technics = VAG210M = This is a whole replacement drivers side engine mounting.

Vibra-Technics = VAG200M = This is a rebuilt passenger side engine mounting and requires your original mounting!

WARNING: using all the above Vibra-Technics mounts will result in too much vibration for day to day driving. This has been found out by several members of this forum, and V.T themselves only recommend them for racing track cars!
