car after n249,n112 and sai delete

Featured Replies

removed the above today with the guides on here and pimpmyskoda.

the car feels much more responsive lower down the revs seems to pull a bit harder aswell.

getting a little bit wastegate chatter aswell which was a massive bonus as i like it a lot .

I just left the conectors and plan to get the engine light mapped out at a later date after the decats fitted.

so whats the best way to bleed the water system after i lost some water

what do people do with the hole in the side of the air box , can i just leave it for now as i plan to fit a air filter .

can i leave the connectors or do i still need the resistors in place

cheers

i would bung the hole in the airbox as your engine will be sucking in un filtered air, not good!

leave the car running with the coolant cap off, it will bleed its self, just keep an eye on it. The resisters, i cut off the connectors and soldered them in place.

Duct tape the hole, rubber bung, anything really. just make sure it wont rot and and up being sucked through. you could get an air box of of another car Golf/A3, or a Diesel etc that does not have a SAI system. there will be no hole.

Also, if its fluttering (like a rally car) thats not good. Yout turbos stalling (boost going out via turbo) and this will feck it in the end. i would suggest you check your Dump valve. How ever, if its just "tiiiish"ing like darth vader then its all good. :)

cheers lads , i know chatter is bad for the turbos lol , it only chatters at very low revs , it dumps above 2500rpm, its got a 007 valve on if that makes any difference

It's a mith that chattering is bad for the turbo, not even the big turbo companys can hand on heart say its bad!!!

I've been running my vrs for over 45k without a dump valve and she chatters more than a scouser on smack with no problems what so ever and bearing in mind I'm on the original turbo at 175k that's peaking @ 18psi I think she'd have been a Prime candidate for failing.

Similar thing to what I did when i had mine fitted. I just bought a black plastic bung from B&Q (can get a pack of various sizes). I reused the elbow from the SAI plastic trunking and fitted the blank in the end.
