had the ABS light and the light that comes on when you disable esp today on the way home. got back and looked and the brake fluid level and bascally rocked the car, didn't notice any movement in the tank

can i just top up the fluid and what fluid do i need?? i take it you should also use a new sealed bottle and not a bottle thats a couple years old even though its had the lid on

just plain dot 4, not like with the 5 where you have 5, 5.1, super 5.1 etc?

yep plain old dot 4. Avaliable from all good car accessory shop, and some rubbish ones too.

It's hydroscopic (sp) so it absorbs mositure, opened bottols will be of little real long term use.

Some 5's are not compatable with existing fluids.

Castrol super dot 4 is ok and can be obtained from halfords or Demon Tweaks.
