Have they done a Drop Test on the Battery?

george

i will ring tomorrow and ask what they have tried. Have you had any battery/starting issues?

I have not, but i have only automatics so no Stop/Start & any car i would have has the correct battery fitted.

Plenty of Stop/Start vehicles are having starting problems, which can be down to premature failure of batteries,

and any that have sat on a forecourt can have been running down & had a few fast booster starts and are now not taking a charge on well.

Some VAG vehicles appear to me to have pretty low CCA (aH) batteries fitted for the loads that can now be expected.

Only time tells how well they will stand up & require replacing.

my greenline has what sounds like 3-4 relay click when it stops and starts, these appear to come from by my feet (prob in fuse box area)

dodgy relay causing your probs?

I had a few problems with my start stop when I first got my GL2 but nothing like this. Turned out to be a loose sensor telling the car that the bonnet was open. Sensor replaced and it worked fine. Hope you get it fixed.

UPDATE

Quick update - After I posted my last update (Wednesday) my wife turned up with a 2012 Monte Carlo as a courtesy car! Skoda wanted to keep my car till Friday, which then turned into Tuesday, so I was stuck with this Monte Carlo for about 5 days. Looked very nice but not very economical. 1st Petrol car I have driven for about 5 years, really miss the drive but not the economy.

Anyway got a call on monday saying my car was fixed! Didnt believe them but I turned up and they said they had been working with SkodaUK on this issue and the ignition switch didnt solve the problem and they traced it to a broken wire. He said the start stop works with 2 "wires", 1 from ignition to engine (saying I have stopped the engine) and another from engine to ignition (saying start the engine now please). This later wire was broken. Apparently.

Anyway credit where it is due they got it sorted. Starts first time and start-stop also works add into the deal 70mpg and I am a happy customer!

Well done supercat happy it's sorted I love my stop start works really well

glad it is all sorted, did not think it would be anything to major

Good news! Glad it's all sorted now.

Hello Supercat, very glad you are pleased and all sorted with the new car. Keep posting to let us all know how you are getting on.
