In need of tyres, where to buy and who to fit?

Featured Replies

The vRS is in need of some new boots, but which ones? Currently have the Conti Sport Contact 2's which have done well (22500 miles) but there is so much choice. Do not intend taking the tyre on the track so i do not need them biased in this direction, but preferably need them to work all year round if possible.

Second piece is where to get the best price for fitting and who can do the best job. Need a good tyre place in southern Hampshire (Portsmouth/Southampton) or Bristol.

Any advice iswelcomed.

Could try tyreshopper, they use the national tyre outlets for supply and fitting and they also offer a price guarantee;

Re all year round, then no summer sports tyre is going to be great on a cold winters day, probably the best you could aim for would be a wet weather tyre such as those made by Uniroyal.

TP

Uniroyal sp's or maxxis v i think they are called are suppose to be gd

maxxis victras (Z1's) rock, but dont work in cold conditions.....

these are supposed to be all year round tyres....http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Maxxis/MA-Z4S-Victra.htm

billed as being usable in the snow "allseason"

I couldnt get Z1's this time round so went for Kumho KU39's.... at £66 fitted per corner the value is amazing...

same wet performance as the maxxis, slightly less dry performance (but havent really pushed the dry yet) but for £66 each, who cares! lol..

sdit: I have winter tyres so no need for them to work in the cold for me...

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. £85 a corner for 215/40/17 from LoveTyres.com . Really good wet and dry grip, haven't been able to test them in winter yet but in the rain over the past few weeks they have been flawless.
