Windsreen Scratch

Featured Replies

Put my wipers on last night and now have a nice rainbow sized scratch where a stone was lodges in my wiper blades. Does anyone know what I need to polish this out? It doesn't look too deep.

AG do a glass polish not sure if it would cope with a proper scratch though.

Will give it a test at lunch time!

I think you'll be lucky - had a similar thing years ago and tried all kinds of things to shift it. Finally gave up; put a hammer into it in the end and paid the £60.................

Good lukc though - if it works let us know!

Mine had a scratch on the screen when i collected it,the valeter had scratched it whilst cleaning the screen,no amount of polishing would remove the scratch, new screen for me cured it.It wasnt that bad a scratch either, you could only see it when the sun was shining.

How much is a new windscreen out of interest?

Mine was paid for on the garages excess, you would be better off claiming on your insurance, depending on your policy you will have to pay a excess of £50 to £100 for a new screen.

you might want to 'accidentally' hit a large stone rather than a hammer.

Not so many hammers flicked up on the roads.

Jewellers rouge should polish it out.

Hi Shane.

Have a look on:

They do a kit....I haven't tried this but spotted it a while ago when I had a similar problem. Doesn't get a great review though....?

I changed car ....which is probably a more expensive option....
