Window Regulator

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with the front window regulator on my Skoda Octavia, simply put one of the cables snapped.

The problem is where to buy the parts from:

Skoda Main Dealer sells it for £85

EBay - £33

The problem is there is no review on the eBay part.

My question is: Has anyone else had this problem before? If so where did you buy the parts from?

Thanks for any help in advance!!!

Is the left pic the ebay one? The OE part is made IIRC by Brose, it's a pretty solid unit. I'd be suspicious of some Turkish copy.

Yes, the left one is on eBay. That's what I am worried about “Turkish Copies”. I think the one on eBay might be made in Turkey. Autoteile-Okzam sounds Turkish and the pink fittings can be found on eBay from Turkey.

Thanks for the help mate.

Come on chaps anyone else with any suggestions!!!

To be honest, £85 is a good price for an oe part, a yaris regulator is much more, and that's only a single rail lifter!

No, it isn's. I just want to spend as little as posible at the moment. I am gonna get one from eBay and post here with the outcome!!!

A bit late, but better then never!!!

During the week I have received the window regulator repair kit from eBay. I have fitted it yesterday, I actually used just 2 of the cables and the cable roller and the rest remained from the original fittings.

Everything seems to be working ok. I hope it stays that way.

The job is a bit fiddly, but doable, as long as you don’t lose your temper and patience.
