Seat belt chime

Featured Replies

I am pretty sure I read on here that I can stop the seat belt alarm by disconnecting the two wire connector from the seat buckle without upsetting any other electrics. Can somebody reassure me?

I have heated seats on my car, and I found that by pushing the driver seat right back, there is a plastic cover that becomes exposed next to the front outer seat securing bolt. Removing this cover allowed access to three connectors, and I disconnected the connector with two blue wires. The seat belt chimes don't work now, and I have no warning lights (air bags etc.) so I have assumed all is o.k.

I have a better solution; put your seat belt on lol

I probably should have explained that there is some kind of fault that makes the seat belt chime sound intermittently, even though the seat belt is done up. I can stop the chime by undoing the seat belt and doing it back up again. As this is a bit dodgy to do when driving, the immediate solution is to disconnect the wires.
