Rear seat lever broken?

Featured Replies

Hi, I pushed my rear seat back yesterday, 2/3 big sectioned one, now when I try and pull it forward it feels as if the lever you pull up isn't connected to anything.

Any ideas? As struggling to fit stuff in my boot with the seats up.

Thanks.

i started a thread yesterday about the same problem on mine's, someone reckoned that a good soak in WD40 may free it up

Doesn't have any Resistance like other side, or how it used to fell, its just loose now.. Think its snapped or not connected to the bar anymore.

Not sure how im mean't to reconnect it or fix when the seats locked in position..

Same problem here. Would kill for a solution!

mines been like this for 2years.I just use a flat headed screw driver to release it.You can get at it from the back of the seat wear it latches on the eye, just enough room for the srew driver to get in and flick the latch up.....

Mines like it too :S

mine's is exactly the same, the WD40 didn't make a difference as something has let go and not stiffened up

my old seats did this,as said use a flat head screwdriver and release it from the boot. .

fixing it . . i aint a clue, would probs mean taking the seats to bits and replacing/reconnecting something.

I popped it up with the screwdriver, and now its working fine again. :)

Had the same problem if you get a screw driver and pop it open you can have a look at the mechanism in the seat. There is a rod that has come out of the locking lever. This has a split end and i just pushed it through the hole and glued a small piece of a credit card in place to stop it popping out.

Ahh I didn't realise but the handle on one of my seat's was broken/missing and I had no idea as to how I would release the rear seat. At least I know now I can get in with a screw driver

Easy and cheap to fix. The replacement handle, surround and clip are only about £4 and it takes about 2 minutes to replace it :)

Had a look the other day and it is just 1 push pin in mine that has become disconnected. Pushed it back in and it worked for a couple of days then stopped working again. I'm going to fix it again this weekend with some industrial glue >:)

Any idea where I can source replacement handle, surround and clip as I heavily handed destroyed mine when the seat got stuck/ jammed! :(

Local Skoda dealer or TPS (Trade Part Specialists) if there is one near you. As above the three bits are dead cheap.

I posted a thread about this long ago.. just need to find it.

Its basically the design is rubbish and the clip comes off quite easily esp if you tug at the handle. Not sure getting a new one will be any better as its simply a design fault, I put tiny cable ties inbetween the clip so its physically harder to pull apart, if your inclined you can simply glue gun it together. I don't see why that would be an issue.

Its another one of those little quirks about the fabia which we all know and love :giggle:

So how do you get the handle off to put the pin back in?
