Skoda Luggage Pouch.

Featured Replies

Has anybody got a luggage pouch that fits onto the bottom of the parcel shelf and, if so, could they tell me how easy it was to fit it please.

I've had one sat in the box since September, but was a bit worried about drilling into my parcel shelf.

Any help please?

oh i like the sound of this is it a suit case thingy

I have one - comes as standard on the Elegance though but I'll have a look later and see how it's attached - I think it's just with stretchy-style clips....

I've got the pouch and the dealer fitted it as it requires some tools I did not have. It is very handy as it fits the Europe-driving junk you need, ie warning triangle, first aid kit, spare bulbs, headlight converters.

It is some kinda clip thing but it's hard to explain, if you want it invisible from the top then you will definitely need tools.

It's a bag that attaches to the parcel shelf and is supposed to be quite useful for keeping things tidy in the boot.

Have a look on the Skoda website, it's

Did the dealer charge you much/anything for fitting it?

My mum's 05 elegance has a net under the parcel shelf, tempted to get one of those myself

They quoted me half an hour labour. It took them a fair bit longer than that. Best thing is to play innocent and get them to quote first, then keep them to it ;)

If they've done it before it is probably easy. For me, it was fitted when they fitted the CK3100 (as per sig) and it was easier to make them do it at the same time.

As for the net - it's easier to fit probably but it has some issues: 1) it's made for the Octy so it's too big really and 2) it will stretch and drop over time if you don't take care with the weight you put into it.

Had a look at mine and it looks like there are hooks screwed into the parcel shelf and then the netting hooks over these. Is it really for the Octy? Mine is a perfect fit with the parcel shelf :D

I bought one and it was a mare to fit ( I am not that good at DIY). Got someone to do it for me in the end and very fiddly and needed bigger screws as it kept pulling out from the parcel shelf when anything was put in

Fine now though and invaluable

I've had that on all three Fabias. Fantastic as it makes use of what is usually wasted space.

It costs

I thought that Elegance's came with this as standard. I mentioned it to my dealer and they quoted around

Found a pic! See here and look on P16. The Elegance comes with the "Parcel shelf luggage net - DMA 410 002"

I don't know if i've confused people or just confused myself, but the luggage pouch i'm on about is a kind of leather bag with a zip, not the netting.

Apologize for the confusion.

Ok I have one (yes yes the leather shelf with zip and all) and I fitted it myself.

It's NOT a difficult job, but it requires attention to a few things:

Everything is supplied in the package, but you need a special tool for some pop-thingys that are used instead of screws for three of the mounting wholes.

(I don't know the name of the tool or the thingys in english, but the thingys looks like spikes and you use the tool to expand them when they are inserted into a drilled whole).

The tool is neither rare or expensive and should be availible at any hardware store, but don't wreck the spiky thingys as that exact size is very rare and of course in the package they only suply the three which are to be used :thumbdwn:

Secondly you need metal drills for the drilling, and you need the EXACT size stated in the manual (Yes the boot shelf that needs drilling has a metal frame inside).

Don't worry about the shelf when you are drilling. It's hollow and since it's metal you can't really drill all the way through by accident.

Third and last you need to study how to get metal subframe into the leather casing. If you need force then you are doing it WRONG. The leather is delicate so be carefull. There are wholes for inserting the subframe all the way around, so once you figure out the system it's quite easy.

It will take a couple of hours because it's a delicate but not at all difficult job.

Enjoy ;)

Now you know why I got the quote from the dealer  - I paid for half an hour extra to fit it, it took more than 1.5 hours ;)

It is very sturdy and works well, keeps it away from the usual junk you gotta carry (like shopping :( ) and it doesn't appear to add any vibrations/noise/much weight to the boot-flap open/close process (whatever you call that then ;) )

Dealers in my country generally quotes

Ah, so it has rivets or captive nuts. I have a rivet gun so it should be OK. Must see if they do one for the old Octavia.

Rivets I believe :) - it sure is expensive to get dealers to fit stuff, don't get me wrong :)
