Will VCDS allow access to the imobiliser on a FL VRS

Featured Replies

As per titles. Does VCDS allow access for key coding etc on a fl octavia vrs?

Thanks in advance

As long as you have the immo code / pin, you can code keys with VCDS, yes.

I know you can code keys on the older models, but do you know that it definitely works on a FL? I've been reading online that the process is more difficult on a FL but the information I've found doesn't specifically mention VCDS as the tool being used.

Do you have the security code?

I have ordered a new (maxidot) cluster, so I am assuming (hoping!) it comes with the code.

You will still need the original code for the car also.

To swap the cluster as Ross said, you need the SKC code for the new and existing cluster since both need to be entered to pair the cluster to the ECU.

new cluster will require dealer coding for the immo

Thanks for the replies. I have a black tag in the spare key with an 8 digit code in the format LNNNNNN. Is this likely to be the skc? I thought they were 4 digits.

If you plug cluster in uncoded can vagtacho read the immo SKC code still?

That's the chassis number isn't it?

Yes it is (last 8 from the VIN)

Ah I see. That's a shame. Looks like I will have to try and find a dealer who is willing to switch the clusters. Thanks for the help everyone!

P.S If anyone knows of one who will do/has done a maxi dot retrofit please let me know... Preferably within a day's trip distance from Aylesbury :)
