Can anyone help?

I have a 1600 petrol Octavia 2008 with just over 24,000 miles on the clock and the engine warning lights comes on. Having checked with my diagnostic box I get two fault codes 08816 and 08342 but I can't identify the problem. After a fault reset they reappear after about 350 to 400 miles. I haven't noticed anything different with the drive, performance or fuel consumption.

Those codes are not VAG fault codes. Your 'diagnostic box' is faulty or the codes are proprietary codes in which case you should contact your supplier
