RickVrs Silver Mk1 Octavia

Featured Replies

Well ive been on the forum a while but not posted in a while and thought id post up all the progress from the last 7 months of ownership

This is how i got the car from a fellow Briskodian

I got her back and starting having issues with the boot lock (fixed by dismantling and reinstalling the lock after greasing up with vaseline) and a bolt had snapped in the wastegate causing a blow. I took the turbo off and put on with a different waste gate and seems fine now.

I had her rolling roaded and came out with 208bhp with the hole in the wastegate so i was quite happy. AFR was spot on as well. I must say though that they used a fan far too small for my car (it was set up for tenault 5's) and they put no air on to my air intake in the bottom right of the bumper.

I decided that the engine needed sprucing so i opted with the following

The finished products

I then decided i wanted to debadge the car as the back was cluttered and also had a horrible blue flame badge from when the exhaust was fitted.

I took off the Octavia VRS and the blue flame and replaced it with my Neverbeen sticker

I then moved on to painting my cam cover and wanted something different to the usual Skoda Green or black

I then decided to wing down the coils a bit but its hardly noticable as it was already dropped. I just tucked the rear wheels up in the arch a bit more and lowered the front end down.

And finally i treated the car to a waxing session.

My next plans to the car are:

Wheel refurb and powdercoat in gun metal/Anthrecite

Powdercoat brakes in purple

Cambelt

Replace boost hoses with black or purple

Fit a double din dvd player

respray front bumper

fit solid gear linkage mounts

Fix driver door lock

Any advice is always welcome

Nice!

oooh very nice. love that rocker cover.

thanks guys.......i think good feedback from you two, judging by your cars, is quite a high praise!

The rocker was a rushed decision and the only purple they had in the shop was ford metallic purple. worked out alright. might carry it as a theme as i dont see anyone else with this combination

Love this mate the back is my favorite that blueflame exhaust looks great with the rear defuser.. I cant do thumb up emoticon i dunno how lol so mega thumbs up pal... Oh and love the purple on silver theme you should definately carry it on

thanks mate. yea i like the exhaust but it doesnt look right without the diffuser. Altho i wouldnt mind a twin outward rolled tail pipe.

Very neat mate :)

I likey :)

Your engine bay looks wicked :)

I dont think it would suit as well as the ovel mate imo standard rear bumper yes but the really suits the back.. Whats your next immidiate job thn mate?

well its been a while since i posted anything.

Finally got my cambelt changed bang on 100,000 miles so now should have another 60,000 miles ahead of her.

I currently have the plan of getting some different wheels (watch this space for something different) and give the old girl a bit of colour. my plans arent going to be to everyones taste but thats the beauty of modifying cars!

First up was the standard carbon wrapping of the interior! gives the car a classier feel for sure

Then i attended the CumbriaVAG show in Kendal and saw some very nice cars and filled my head with ideas

Ive lastly fitted some bonnet struts which im undecided on. Due to having to bend the ends they have an initial 'notch' when opening or closing the bonney but they do hold the bonnet and do what they are meant to so im happy enough.

Then i gave her a quick wash as i had been at Santa pod at the weekend and she was filthy! (not in the good way either!!) used some new products i bought at santa pod and i must say im impressed for the price

This is me arriving at pod!

And the products!

That clean was just using quick detailer but i have a clay bar and new wax to try when i have more time!

Oh and lastly ive added a sticker......not to everyones taste and ive had mized responses but lets just say it will match when i get my wheels!
