140 or 170

Featured Replies

You wait until you get your Yeti, you will want to overtake too!

Particularly if it's a 170 ;)

  • For info, a 170 is an easy remap to 210. It will take more, but that is safe and preserves the DPF... Have to say I am tempted.

  • Oh I don't know, I prefer a well rounded rear end to a flat one, and if it's coming backwards onto my long pointy one that's even better!

    Bob, the halo isn't working!! Corner, please!!

Please note the current Government proposals only apply to englandshire, and not the proud nations of Wales and Scotland!! :giggle:

And to be honest if you actually read the proposals it will only apply to single track roads with a reasonable amount of traffic and lots of hazards. However it may have a devastating effect on Road Rallying which you could compete in with some Yeti's.

(There back to Yeti specific!!)

Wales - Wales!

Yeti - Yeti!

There back to Yeti :whew:

Wales and Scotland? Don't you mean West and North Britain?

The insurance group is much higher on the 170, so get a 140, remap it and 'maybe' your premiums will be lower

I pay less for my Yeti than for my previous Octy, despite about twice the power and value.

Who let you out of the corner?

Who let you out of the corner?

:bandit:

Who let you out of the corner?

He'd probably peed in it... ... ... ...just like a farm collie.......

Uh-oh - here comes Kibby with a whinge [again!!!!!!].

*ducks, and runs into the garden where the YETI is parked*

Been away so missed this thread but I would go 170 from your list, purely as the 140 is exactly the same engine as the 110, with marginal performance gain from it's differing mapping. Owed both a 140 4x4 (for a year and 13k miles) and 110 4x4; I've yet to find any real benefit in paying that extra £800 for the 140 in 18.5k miles driving the 110 4x4.

Hmmm... Now starting to get a bit worried - was sure when ordering our Yeti, that the 140 is better engine than 110. The only test Yeti available at the moment was 1,8 petrol so that didn't help much.

But what about numbers (on paper, but still...): Acceleration 0-100kmh (60 mph) - (4x4)110: 12,2 sec., (4x4)140: 9,9 sec., (4x4)170: 8,4. 12,2 s. versus 9,9 s. - looks like a big difference to me...

But now it looks it was perhaps a wrong decision we made... :think:

The 140 and 110 engines are physically identical only the mapping, gearbox ratios and front brake size differ between the two 4x4 models. The engine codes also show the family line;

CFHA = 110 2wd

CFHC = 140 4x4

CFHF = 110 4x4

If you regularly tow a caravan then the 140 makes sense, if not I feel it's a lot of extra cash for little real world performance gain.
