140 or 170

...and makes more drag because it's taller and has a big flat rear end. :)

A flat rear end is better than a rounded one, unless it's going backwards! Only a very long pointed one would be even better.

Practically all estate versions of cars are faster than saloon versions.

  • For info, a 170 is an easy remap to 210. It will take more, but that is safe and preserves the DPF... Have to say I am tempted.

  • Oh I don't know, I prefer a well rounded rear end to a flat one, and if it's coming backwards onto my long pointy one that's even better!

Norry did ask for that with you around Bob. I could see it a mile off

As the saying goes "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men"

Be bad and go for the 170, you know you want to be corrupted

Sounds like a Carry On Film has interrupted normal service.

Do you have the scrolls? No, I always walk this way - I thank you!

In that case I can say it's good to be bad.

Back on topic

My CR140 is easier to drive, as fast as, and stops as well as a CR170 now, but is slightly less economical as it is an automatic.

And it looks like a 1.2tsi DSG

Mike

Erm -back on topic......

The 170 is better.

The 170 is better.

It would be even better if it were available with DSG

Like Bahnstormers and my remapped CR140's

Well, if the government gets its way and reduces country road limits from 60mph to 40mph (as announced last week) then you may as well get a 110bhp as you won't be allowed to overtake that milk lorry at 4am on an empty straight bit of road.......

Due to the Pembrokeshire 40's & 50's club (those who NEVER go faster than 40 or 50 no matter what the road conditions), that wont make a blind bit of difference to us here

Of course, not everyone wants/needs to drive to the legal limit all the time, or could safely do so. I'm sure we all make some allowance for them, don't we?

Nope! :@

Nope! :@

Oh dear. I used to like Haverfordwest, too.

:giggle:

While we're off topic.

In Lincolnshire we have the 42 club.

You overtake them on the open road , in your yeti, but they catch you up again through 30mph villages.

You're ahead of me now....

They drive at 42mph EVERYWHERE. :wonder:

(sorry ,edited to include Yeti.)

:giggle:

You wait until you get your Yeti, you will want to overtake too!

This forum is getting to be more off topic than usual.

Having to read through a lot of guff and stuff is a bit off putting without a mention of a Yeti.

I mention the different way Skoda is pronounced and it gets moved as off topic (probably rightly so) but others can ramble on with no sanctions from the thought police!!

Probablly get moved as no mention of Yeti.

Rant over.....

Please note the current Government proposals only apply to englandshire, and not the proud nations of Wales and Scotland!! :giggle:

And to be honest if you actually read the proposals it will only apply to single track roads with a reasonable amount of traffic and lots of hazards. However it may have a devastating effect on Road Rallying which you could compete in with some Yeti's.

(There back to Yeti specific!!)

See what I mean!! .....lol (sorry forgot the Yeti).

The insurance group is much higher on the 170, so get a 140, remap it and 'maybe' your premiums will be lower

Oddly there is a £20 (5%) difference between our 1.2 (105) DSG petrol and our 2.0 (170) 4x4 diesel.

Both well specced Elegances, same colour, same age and parked at the same address.
