Skoda 2009 Bluetooth connection?

Featured Replies

What's the story on the 2009 Elegance touchscreen media center/player? Does it really have BT or not?

The menus have the choice for BT but it can't be selected and remains gray. You know, CD, Aux, BT are there as folders but BT is just grayed out.

I have an Android phone, HTC One X, and I gathered it's not supported by the system, but neither does wife's Nokia C5 seem to be.

What kind of phones are compatible if any? I also gathered that since 2010 models there are more compatible phones and upgrading the player's BT module might work, but that it will cost several hundred and my Android won't be supported anyhow?

How exactly do you access any BT settings on the system anyway? Can't find any menu with any settings. When I put my phones in 'search for BT devices' mode I get nothing.

I'd only need connection as a media player - it'd be great to be able to stream audio from my phone via BT, because I use it as a navigator and I definitely don't want to run a LONG cord for audio in addition to the charging cable...but Internet radio while driving would be superb. I have 32GB of music on SD card but still Internet radio would be great...just not worth hundreds if it really needs some work / parts upgraded.

Do you have a bluetooth box underneath the drivers seat mounted on the floor and covered with a plastic cover?

If not then you don't have bluetooth, as the head unit does not have it built in.

Looks a bit like this:

I have an HTC3600 Trinity and I have managed to link my phone with the Columbus system via bluetooth. As has been stated, have a look at the unit under the drivers seat, pull the plastic cover forwards, what is the VW part number on it.
