Cycle carrier on a VRS hatch

Featured Replies

Does anyone on here use a cycle carrier (hatch mounted) on a VRS if so where did you source it please.

Trying to avoid running a roof rack if I can.

Don't think there is one due to the rear spoiler. Take it you have a tow bar/towing electrics so you can put a light board on to make it legal? If so what about a tow car mounted one?

if you put the rear seats down (properly) you can put a standard road bike or mountain bike straight in without the wheels coming off. You can get two in like this as long as the handlebars aren't over about 740mm wide at which points its easier to take the front wheels off. Its a lot easier than you might think in fact. Of course you can only get two people in the car then!

Even if you dont put the rear seats down properly with headrests out etc you can still get one bike in like this and two with wheels off.

Get a roof rack and a Thule cycle carrier :)

Get a roof rack and a Thule cycle carrier :)

Having looked in to it a bit that does seem the best option.

Thanks all.

It also looks pretty damn cool for a bike rack :D

Till you forget about the bikes and pull into a car park with height restrictions lol :p

I fitted a detachable towbar to mine,i already had a towbar cycle carrier, saves having roof bars and a carrier on the roof all the time,i did have roof bars and a cycle carrier but due to having a mountain bike,if it could muddy etc, which 99% of the time it did, your roof would get covered in mud etc.
