What is the difference in our engines for them to have 225bhp and we only have 180? is it just ecu map or do they have bigger injectors etc?

Just get a remap to 210bhp same as the early cupra r's! Doubt youd notice the difference between the 2

But i beleve then your mpg reading and range redings will be out :( which is why i didnt **** away a huge chunk of cash on my ihi a few years back im strange and things not working or working correct drive me doodally :p

different engine as well. They run on the aem engine or something like that and have a 6 speed box as well if I am not mistaken.

TBH I think the Leon is an ugly car so I would rather go "slower" with a more practical car that looks better.

Like them both tbh it was either a cupra or a vrs but due to a massive boot and a baby arriving in the next 3 weeks the VRS won... which I'm glad I did now as I love it to bits but that won't stop me from tinkering lol

I like bolt on upgrades as I don't tend to have much spare time

You'll just over fuel and run like **** on a standard vrs. There not required until you go hybrid turbo so I wouldn't bother, save your money and get yours mapped.

injectors and fuel pump and pressure reg

turbo and exhaust and mannifold

extra coolant pump to feed turbo

twin intercoolers and opposite inlet

6 speed box

very different animal imo a very good base to mod with

by adding larger fuel injectors does nowt as the car isnt mapped for them and standard injectors are no where near 100% duty cycle on a standard car

the point you need to think about changing injectors is when you fit larger turbo's but yu will also need the ecu mapping to account for this to get fuel correct

the vrs might have a smaller turbo but with that you get next to no lag making for a better road car ;-)

The Cupra is a great car. Only significant benefit of the vRS that I can think of is the larger boot, which matters to some of us.

the gear ratio's on the petrol 6spd O2M boxes are meant to match the shorter boost range of the K04 turbo

Its allows you get a K04 up into boost faster, but at the cost of lots of gear changes.

I found the last red one lurking behind the seat dealer in brizzle

Fully loaded inc sat nav too

It came down to

£18500 for the cupra or £13100 for the octy lol

Been there, done it and got the vrs t shirt. She doesn't need the boot space which is the only + the vrs has over the R IMO, she just wants something a bit bigger and more comfortable than her mk4. I will only drive it now and then so want something with decent get up and go

I've got the BM for my fun which is a lot more fun than any vrs or Cupra lol

Also you don't carry the general persona of being a tit if you drive a skoda.
