bit of help please?

Featured Replies

hello everyone

i am now officially the owner of a mk2 fabia vrs in a dashing yellow :giggle:

I'm just after a bit of advice really, whats sort of things can i do to squeeze a bit more power from this beauty? (without going to overboard, and trying to keep it relatively cheap)

all suggestions are greatly appreciated, as is any info on the best places to go to get work done

cheers

Stage 1 remap depending where and when will set you back about 300 quid to get 200-210bhp. Lots more money needed to go further

A remap or TMC tuning box, whichever you fancy, tuning box £350 are easy to install and can be removed whenever you like, most members on here using the box have had rolling road print outs between 205-215bhp. Similar gains to the remap however this is done within the ecu costing between £380-450 depending who you decide to go ahead with the remap.

Sib-rs :)

could you recommend somewhere to get that done? and i see there is quite a lot of discussion on what are the best springs for lowering any recommendations on that?

cheers

Where to get it done is going to be down a lot to who is around you or how far you are willing to travel, from reading some horror stories I personally would be wary of any of the less well known or talked about. Also make sure to fully consider the impact actual or potential on insurance and warranty. Lots of people as said above use TMC boxes to get around the Warranty, as you remove it before it goes in. Some would say it is not as good as an actual remap but it is quick easy, can be sold on when no longer required and available to you wherever you live. Being new to this modding thing and remaps I have no real idea how the maps compare technically. But if you read a few of the threads the same names keep cropping up.

There is a Skoda supplied set of lowering springs, eibachs, I think. Various others around which will lower by different amounts, pretty sure there is a thread on here somewhere where someone has pulled together lots of info and pictures of before and afters.

Personally I think one of the cheapest transformation is a RARB. When I put mine on, easy job with a set of ramps, I instantly found a huge improvement in cornering. Will still probably get it lowered at some point but next on the list is an APR remap which goes on tomorrow, yey!
