Hi guys, I thought I would pop on here to find out more about the fabia vrs.

I currently drive a Leon cupra r mk1 but I am starting a new job just after Christmas which means I will be commuting 80miles a day. That would kill me in the Lcr hence I'm after a vrs.

I'm hoping to get about 5k from mine but looking at them for around 4.5k just incase. Are there decent examples for this price or should I look elsewhere?

I'm currently around kings Lynn area in Norfolk but moving down to Banbury way in Oxfordshire.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome! I have seen a fiew on Skoda dealer fourcourts for around 5k and they are complete minters! Skoda still like to put them on from time to time even tho they are getting a bit old for a main dealer fourcourt because they know it will be the quickest selling thing on there... I'd see if you can find on at a dealer I did and it's close as dammit mint and I got a decent deal on a full leather upgrade! :)

what are these like for space in the back? i need to fit 2 baby seats in every now and again.

Hi and welcome.

I made the transition from a leon cupra tdi to the fabia vrs. Initially scepticle but now im so glad I did. I too have to get my boys in the back and we travel alot and its perfectly fine for us. Plus we get close to 60 mpg on the motorways regurlarly even with it being mapped and decated. the cupra wouldnt get more than 48 mpg.!!

thanks for that reply. i was trying to decide between the fabia vrs and leon fr+ mk1. i was suprised to find the vrs is £150 cheaper on insurance and cheaper tax but wasnt sure about 2 baby seats. ill go for it i think as its only short trips out they will be in. :)

I must admit I loved the leon cupra tdi too and can see why you would but like I say the economy plus the performance you get from the fabia mi1 vrs is really good. At first I wasnt sure as initially I missed the handling capability of the leon. I cant speak for others but I found that the fab was a bit skittish in comparison to the leon at least. Felt like it was skating a bit at times. Ive always spent money on good tyres too so that wasnt the issue nor was the suspension tired or anything. Mine is mapped btw so torque steer played a part at times.! Ive since put octy spiders on and run 215 40 17 tyres and that has transformed the car. It now drives the same as the leon did and is planted and far more responsive in bends.

So ye I recommend going for it. If you mod the car I think you will be surprised at how quick these cars actually are. Def a sheep in wolves clothing.

So I got my fabia vrs!!! Swapped my lcr for it and although I miss the lcr I have found the best replacement a little work is needed but she is pushing 211bhp and 360lb ft torque.
