1.9tdi 110bhp fuel pump - replacing

Featured Replies

Hi

my fuel pump has gone on my 2003 octy 1.9tdi 110bhp

i've managed to source one from a 2004 fabia via a breakers

i think model is a bosch vp37 can anybody confirm that it will fit ?

it certainly looks the same as the existing one

cheers

Steve

If its off a Fabia then that's an SDi Fabia not a TDi so I'd be shocked if it was suitable.

My understanding is that the pump is the same across all the 1.9s either Sdi or tdi

Or so said the guy who got it for me and he knows his vag engines

Fair enough

Tech1e is right. Just because the pump is a VP37 doesn't mean it'll work.

I know that the pump is a different part for the AGP than the AHF/AGR/ASV on an Octavia.

I also know that the Fabia has the same part number as the AGP, so you have the wrong part.

IIRC, the parts only differ by the trailing letters so beware if they are not stated.

Also make sure that the hub is on the pump and that the centre nut has not been undone, or you will have problems with timing (it usually has yellow paint on the nut.)

there are plenty of them on ebay- for ahf/asv engines.. ;)

just an update- the pump from the fabia fitted - and the engine fired up straight away - :D

Glad it worked for you m8, I'm sure quite a few parts are interchangeable without people knowing lol

Sent from my Galaxy S2 not a Crapple!

I checked what the difference between the pumps is...

They are identical electrically and mechanically, but the mechanical setting for the quantity adjuster's range of movement is different. This means that you may not be able to achieve the required injection quantity at maximum load.

You may be able to change the injection quantity with VCDS or by performing the 'hammer mod' on the pump.
